It marked some big birthdays. 250 years for - oh you’ve heard enough about that. But also a happy 74th birthday to former FGL Manager The Doctor. And also happy 4th birthday to Julian, part of team Jaustin.
I enjoyed watching some of the US Senior Open at Scioto. (Not in person, on TV). So many old familiar names like Peppermint Patty, Stewart Kitchen Cink, Fancy Pants, the Predator. Oh such fun!
I was walking the neighborhood streets Saturday when I noticed Archie walking towards me. Big floppy hat, sweaty old OSU t-shirt and he’s only about 5’ 6” so it was clearly him. I just said “hi” as I walked by but started planning for the return trip down the sidewalk! On the way back, I asked him if the nasty heat made him want to put the pads back on again. He told me , “God no. but this is the time of year that the Bengals would open training camp and it was so painful!” Interesting note on all that was the entire time he kept walking; walking away from me. My second question was to see if he remembered signing a Hooters calendar for a 10 year old boy at our Brewseum Open but never got the chance.
Oh - we also had some FGL golf over the weekend. Jim picked up 9 points with Homa’s 2nd place finish and moves up on your FGL leaderboard to 2nd place. Doug grabbed a win and is now tied for 3rd place.
