Rules

Here’s the 2024 Fantasy Golf League (FGL) rules:   (same as the past several years)

Each manager must choose 6 (no more, no less) golfers to participate on their team.

Only the 23 men’s tournaments listed on the attached schedule will count towards your FGL team score. Keep that in mind if you elect to draft lots of European players!   And take LIV golfers at your own risk. They’ll be cheap but won’t play much. Also note that the I.D.I is not one of the listed tournaments.

For 2025, the draft for each round will have the reverse order of managers based upon the 2024 final standings. That will continue for two rounds before it then snakes around in opposite order for the 3rd round. Snaking of order will then continue for each round.

Each manager will be allowed to pick any tour player they wish up until that player has been selected.  The only other stipulation is that the total salary for the franchise can not exceed the salary cap.  Total of all salaries must be $20.00 or less.  Minimum price of any player is $0.01.  Use the World Golf Rankings as your salary source.

Points will be awarded each week for your team as follows :

- 1st place     10 points

- 2nd place     7 points

- top 10         4 points

- top 20         2 points

- finishing         1 point

- making the cut but not finishing  (this includes those rare instances when there's a second "cut")  0 points

- missing cut*     -1 point

*If your golfer fails to make it past the cut for any reason, the player costs you a point. (2 if it’s a Major)  A player who starts a tournament but is DQ'd or withdraws before the Cut is announced is considered to have Missed the Cut.

The following tournaments will count double:

        US Open

        British Open

        The Master’s

        The PGA Championship

        Memorial Tournament

You may pick up any golfer at any time provided the new golfer does not put you over the salary cap.  Subtract the value of the player you're getting rid of.  That amount, plus whatever amount you previously had under the salary cap is what you have to play with.  We do not recalculate your entire team's value with each trade.  Basically, if the value of your team has gone up, you're probably doing pretty well.  If the value of your team has gone down, you need to get rid of your dog anyway.  As before, it’s going to cost you…..$5 per trade for the first 5 trades, $10 for the next five and $15 each for the next five.  15 trade max per season.  (A trade defined as one player released and one added.)  Substitutions made during a tournament will count towards the next weekend's event.

In case of a tie for 1st place at the end of the regular FGL season, the tied FGL managers will move into the next week’s tournament as a playoff. No trades allowed. This will continue for as many weeks as necessary.

Entry Fee:

Once again, for the privilege of taking part in FGL 2025, the fee for entering a team into this league will be still be only $35.

Awards, prizes and other forms of recognition:

At the end of the season:

1st place = 70% of the pool and bragging rights

2nd place = 30%

3rd place = nothing

Pool money consists of entry fees and trades.  In case of ties, we split it like they would do in a tournament.  If two managers tie for second, they split the 2nd place pot.

OPTIONAL SIDE BET:

-For the 4 majors and Muirfield, a separate pot will be paid out to the team with the most points for each event.  Entry fee = $5.

Also: The managers that come in last place and first place each owe a round of drinks at the next year's FGL Draft Night.
