8/12 - I suffered a nasty stroke in the left side of my brain. There has not been a single positive thing the past week other than getting home Tuesday. My language is a huge struggle but with just two tournaments yet, I think we’ll be just fine to close out 2020.
Sorry about the delay.
I was out for a few weeks with fluid around my lung as well as blood in my spleen. I can assure you all that hurts - or I’m whimp. Back home home learning to walk, eat and all that again. Sorry for the FGL delay. I summarized all scores over the weeks. Let me know if I missed any scores. Congrats to Mgr Jim on Jon Ram’s Memorial win. Also - well done to Dave recently for JT’s top scores. But comes on BTO - you had every guy make the PGA Championship cut and none score top 10? Oh well - I’m over it! Three tournaments left - two are Majors - scattered over the next few months. Good luck.
Most of us spend an extra week in Dublin.
Gives the guys some time to play other courses while they’re here - Like Safarri, Rolling Meadows, Marysville Country Club But anyway, it’s finally here -our first Major of the season - The Memorial!!!!!

Frenchy had another huge week and won the Rocket Mortgage tournament in Motown. Hopefully he’s done for the year now! Guy has been on fire!
Middle of the pack (Jim, Doug and BTO) also scored -1 for the tournament.
So far this season as we approach the halfway point (and no Majors yet), Tiger [Big J] and Martin Kaymer [Doug] have not played a single FGL event. At the other extreme, Im [Paul] has played in every event. Hovland and Niemann [Big J], Hun An [Doug], Higgs [Paul}, Robert Reed [Jim], Bubba [BTO], have played in all but one FGL tournament.
Big July 4th weekend!
For thousands of years, the Nathans Hot Dog eating championship has taken place on July 4th. (Joey Chestnut always wins.) I recall watching that competition one year at Bob’s Bar after an IDI event. Oh yes - the IDI. Another amazing event. Yep - it’s an odd year. There was no parade and no potato salad. Doug was not the grand marshall for any event. And yet, we played on. Special thanks to Doug and Big J for joining me for an amazing afternoon.
Let's head to Dublin!

Travelers in the books
Dustin Johnson gave your Commissioner a big win which helped move me up to third place.
B.T.O. had 4 guys miss the cut. That’s never good. Negative points for the Lumberman.
Hovland managed to slip down to 11th place for Big J, helping to ensure that he is now in the basement.
The virus continues to take its toll. Keep your guys safe or get them sick right now so they are around for the Majors!
Rocket Mortgage in Detroit up next. (WorldPay at Muirfield Village after that)

WELCOME BACK FGL MANAGERS
With the PGA returning to Texas and the Colonial, FGL2020 begins again! Which means …………. you all need to look up who you had on your team!
Managers in the middle of your leaderboard did the best. Team Laustin brought in 11 points thanks to a 2nd place finish by Colin Morikawa. Your Commissioner scored 10 points thanks to Daniel HamBerger’s win. And B.T.O. ended up with 9 points thanks to three top 10 finishers. (and three missed cuts - all or nothing with his guys!)
Manager Paul kept a strong hold on his lead with 6 points for the week. His third round pick of Sungjae Im has the league leading most points at 19.
Rough week for Monica. Three of her boys missed the cut and she ended up -1 and finds herself in the basement. Must mean only better times are ahead.

AGAIN - WE HAVE A NEW SCHEDULE
June tournaments will be played without fans.
Memorial gets moved to July to the British Open spot. Will hopefully have spectators. Also an expanded field of 144.
The Heritage at Harbour Town - one of my favorites - is back on the schedule for July!
Adjusted schedule under the tournament tab. Three under our belt Still 12 more to go including 4 Majors.

Adjusted FGL season
PGA and FGL announce adjusted season
AS OF NOW ……. we will end out season with 3 our of our last 4 tournaments being Majors. That could make things exciting! We will start to wrap things up with the PGA Championship back near the end of the season, like it once was. We’ll have our traditional Wyndham Championship and then take a break for the FedEx Championship stuff. US Open then in September with The Master’s in November.
The British Open Championship has been canceled. So for those of you in the Major sidebets, that’s $5 in your pocket. Congratulations! Also - I anticipate that the Memorial tournament will get pushed back to the open spot in early August when the Olympics were originally scheduled. Just my hunch. I’ve not been able to log into any of the PGA conference calls. I’m sure it’s just a technical glitch.
I also suspect that the remaining May tournaments will be canceled. We will somehow make it all work!
The Cape
Welcome to Chatham!
March 18th update
PGA continues to cancel tournaments. We’re now “closed” thru the Byron Nelson 5/7 - 5/10. The Master’s and the PGA Championship are hoped to be rescheduled later this year. But I’m sure more will change.
COMMISSIONER ISSUES STATEMENT
I really did. Published a huge statement but with everything going on, must have got missed by the major wire services.
THE FGL CONTINUES ON! Unlike every sport which has canceled or delayed their season, the FGL has not missed a step. “I feel like we’ve got the strongest managers in the country. COVID Corona Whatever doesn’t stand a chance against our 10 franchises.” - according to the Commissioner’s Office.
Meanwhile, the PGA has canceled the next several tournaments. Whenever their season does resume, please know that there will NOT be an asterisk on the 2020 Tommy O Award - if I win.
Matsuyama tied a course record with a 63 on the opening day of the Players. -9 and clearly going to go on to win the tournament for your Commissioner. I’m digging through 20 years of by-laws, old text books, the kid’s kindergarten drawings, anything, to find some possible way to claim points for this opening round. So far - no luck.
What are the odds of someone’s pancreas getting fired up a week before an all expense paid trip to the Master’s? What are the odd’s of a worldwide pandemic hitting weeks before the Master’s causing someone to miss such an all-expense paid trip? And then, what are the odds of both things happening in back to back years to that same someone? I can assure you - the odds are 100%!
