Quiet weekend in Dallas

A net total of just 5 FGL points were scored at the Byron Nelson. No one had any player finish in the Top 10. Standings did not change through Team Jaustin is now just 1 point behind your Commissioner.

Jordan Spieth - Texas is supposed to be your state. You were a favorite pick to win this tournament. Something tells me that all is not well with Team Big J right now. Monday’s conference call will not be pleasant.

Wells Fargo - I can’t keep up with all the different names this next tournament has had. And it’s usually later in the season. But it’s a great course and has a strong FGL field being a PGA Signature event.

Team golf in N'leans

Is LIV something like what we saw in New Orleans with the team concept? Our FGL standings did not change with this tournament though I did cut my gap against Monica/Paul a bit with Shane Lowry’s win. (I heard his interview after the tournament. I absolutely love his accent. I just had no clue what he said.) Team Jaustin picked up 10 points with Rory also on the winning team.

A fun day of MONSTER TRUCKS!!!!!!

First time I had been to one of these. These 8 trucks are huge, smelly and sooooo loud. The way they spin around, bounce all around, jump in the air, etc - kind of reminded me of riding in the golf cart with Big J.

Opening round of the season

I headed south Saturday to golf with two legends. Absolutely a lovely day - except for crazy winds. I wish this story had a happy ending but it doesn’t. After about 7 holes, Three Finger Tim had to withdraw with some strained neck injury. As for Big J, his golf game was absolutely terrible. Simply horrible. But the sad truth is that my game was even worse. My highlight was probably getting a hot dog at the turn. After 10 holes, we no longer bothered keeping score. Just glad all of that madness must certainly be behind us!

Interesting week at FGL Headquarters

We got out with the Kids in IT. Roamed around Oakland Park Nursey and then hit Budd Dairy Food Hall. Had never been there before. Nice place.

Played Upper Deck Golf at the Shoe with Lauren. Roamed around the stadium playing 9 holes. I can confirm that the stadium still has plenty of steps. I think I walked them all. A fun time seeing the Ohio Stadium in a different way.

Hit TopGolf with Brelley one afternoon. I don’t think of my son as a comedian but as he was telling me a story of how Big J tried to explain to him when to use the “A wedge”, I had tears in my eyes.

Thank you Woody for an invite to opening night of a new Shadowbox Show: Behind Close Doors.

Of course, another win for Scottie

Monica and Doug both pick up 19 points in Hilton Head. Scottie’s 57 points alone would put him in ahead of most managers. He must be stopped!

Battle appears to be for 2nd place as no cut at The Heritage guarantees points for everyone.

We’re going to New Orleans for team competition. It is NOT a signature event so many FGL golers are takng the week off. TOP 33 TEAMS MAKE THE CUT.

Manager Golfers expected to play

B.T.O. Sam Ryder Truck, Kevin Streelman

Taking a moment to vent…

I clearly haven’t bought paint in awhile. Our outside patio deck needed some touch-up so off to Home Depot I went. A gallon was $65. When did this happen? I asked the lady at Home Depot if it had gold flecks in it. She gave me a curious look and then very seriously told me that there was no gold in it. That’s just crazy. Next time - I just stay on my couch!

Scottie is taking all the drama out of this season!

Definitely the most steady & consistent player this week and really all season. What happened to all that crappy putting from last season? Paul must have passed along a few tips. But a huge tournament for PAK-Mon as all four players made the cut and all were Top 20. 40 points and the Major sidebet victory.

Team Jaustin also had a strong tournament with all players making the cut. Jaustin holds onto 2nd place. Actually with all the points flying everywhere, there were no changes to the standings except Doug and Kevin flipped spots.

For both Doug and Dave, none of their players finished in the top 20. That kind of hurts.

Special thanks to Managers Doctor, Monica and Doug for an outstanding Master’s Viewing Party at Coach’s.

Going back home

It was a lovely adventure at the OSU Spring Game. Kind of like going home back in the suite!

Let's go to Hilton Head

Fun tournament. Such tiny little greens. A signature event so a strong field.

Eclipse Event

Mrs. Commissioner and I headed out to experience the eclipse experience Monday afternoon. Rather than just watch it at home, I wanted to get a little deeper into it so that I got the full experience. I’m not sure I’m going to make it the next time it comes through Ohio in 2099. I’ll probably be busy.

I initiated the Doug Bame Travel Protocol. With that, you just randomly travel wherever you want and once you stop, then you are exactly where you are supposed to be. Mrs. Commissioner was not a big fan of this plan. “Are you stopping here? Are we really just going to get out and walk around?” We ended up in Ashley Ohio at a small local “downtown” bar. There’s only one traffic light in Ashley so it’s hard to pinpoint the downtown. I told the bartender that we were just trespassing and he responded that everyone there was. There were about 50 people at the bar/patio. “I know everyone in this town and I don’t know any of you!” - he told me.

Without the silly glasses, you wouldn’t know the moon was attempting to do its magic. With even the slightest sliver of sun shining through, it was still very much daylight. Kind of disappointing. But then the moon stepped up its game. It got mostly dark, street lights came on, the temperature dropped a little, Mugsy wanted to get in her pajamas. But a few minutes later, the sun peeked out the other side and it was blnding again! I took a crappy picture through the silly glasses. Any photo you find on-line will be much better.

And I heard Dark Side of the Moon and Total Eclipse of the Heart enough to last me until the next eclipse.
